Does Usher deserve a solo Vogue Cover?

Usher is Vogue's Winter 2024 digital cover star. Ahem! Co-star.

While Usher is featured on Vogue's Winter 2024 digital cover, he's not the main focus. Instead, he shares the cover with model Carolyn Murphy and the Jr Gaels 6U football team. This has left many wondering why Usher, a cultural icon and trendsetting entertainer, isn't celebrated with a solo cover. Some speculate that Usher may not have asked for a solo cover, while others wonder if Vogue doesn't consider him a big enough star. Regardless of the reason, Usher's fans are left scratching their heads as to why he's not the centre of attention on the cover.

Here are some comments from the fans:
Now why is there a random white woman on that Vogue cover w/ Usher?! Could he not do it by himself?! - @_loveRachel_

The kids are adorable, but this cover is a…mess lol. My eye can’t focus on a damn thing. That, and this is USHER’s moment, why is he sharing it with a white woman? Love Carolyn down, but what was the reason? - @kelleent

I feel like it was for symmetry. If you rearrange the picture completely you don’t need her but for this pose it looks off if you don’t have just SOMEONE on the other side - @CoachSTEVYROC

Literally in the airport asked this white lady if she knew who was on the cover of Vogue and she said “usher” .. i asked if she knew the white lady … she had no clue lmfaoooooo - @ScottieBeam

Why 👏🏽 is 👏🏽 she 👏🏽 there?! - @Clarissa_Laskey
Being asked to perform at the Super Bowl has come to be seen as the ultimate form of mainstream validation and acceptance. A huge achievement for Usher who has been making chart-topping hits, sold more than 80 million records worldwide and won 8 Grammys. However, even after all these accomplishments in a career spanning nearly 30 years, It isn't enough to solidify a solo cover? Vogue, we need answers.

I mean, If you were going to add anyone else on the cover it would be singers Brandy and Monica. All three artists debuted around the same time and have had a huge impact on the music industry. It would've been a epic and iconic moment for R&B. But I digress.

The Vogue cover and spread is shot by Campbell Addy and styled by Max Ortega. Interviewed by Alessandra Codinha. Check it out HERE.
